Amazon drops the price to $127.49 on The Beatles Sgt Peppers box set
By Stephen Pate – Amazon dropped the price of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Box Set on the 50th anniversary of its original release June 1, 1967.
The previous price was $149.95 an increase posted since last Saturday. This price drop will make fans of The Beatles happy. I reported that pricing on April 21st – Get Guaranteed Special Offer on Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s 50th.
Update– the price was slashed again in the last week to $114 which was price guaranteed for pre-orders at Amazon.
It was 50 years ago today Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was released in the UK and it shot to the top of the charts right away. Amazingly in the UK, the 50th Anniversary is #1 on the official charts today.
The 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Peppers has stereo and surround re-mixes that sound better than the original. There are also out-takes, videos and extras that add to the original. Many fans and critics are calling for Apple records to re-issue all The Beatles albums with the same care and detail.
The 4 versions of the 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Peppers are in the Top 10 best selling CD’s or vinyl on Amazon.com. The Deluxe Box Set has been #1 in CDs & Vinyl (See Top 100 in CDs & Vinyl) on Amazon.com for weeks. The Deluxe CD is # 5, vinyl #8 and single CD #9.
