Stephen Pate, owner and editor of NJN Network, just released Blue Christmas on iTunes this week. All proceeds from the song will be donated to the Schizophrenia Society. NJN Network is absorbing recording, distribution and royalty costs related to the single.

“Christmas is supposed to be a happy time,” said Pate “but for the many people suffering from mental disabilities it can be a time of deeper anguish.”

“Oye! Times enthusiastically supports NJN,” said Inder Singh, Marketing Manager of Oye! Times. “We believe in taking up causes that others may ignore. Justice for us means sacrifice and helping those in need.”

Oye! Times has given front page placement to the music widget for the song, which can be played, downloaded for free, or purchased with a donation of 99 cents.

“The song is about a boy who misses his girlfriend at Christmas,” said Pate. “We thought it would be nice to donate the  proceeds to the Schizophrenia Society who help people with  mental illness and resulting disabilities.”

“When the song is purchased for $0.99, we will donate $1.09,” said Pate. The song is available on iTunes and CDBaby and will soon be available on more than 10 internet music sites.

“We know file sharing is popular these days,” said Pate covering all bases. “We are donating $.10 cents for every person who listens to the song or downloads it for free.”

Oye! Times, which started in 2008, now has 380,000 monthly page views. It offers an impressive array of community information, ranging from News, Sports, Arts & Culture, Fashion, Health, Relationships, Community Events and Business.
