Singer Songwriters wanted – Charlottetown Always on the Street

Ted Simmons is Always on the Street

We have a few openings for singer songwriters for Charlottetown’s Always on the Street. This will be my third year and it is fun.

By Stephen Pate – You will be entertaining the lunchtime crowd and tourists on Victoria Row who like music but also like to talk. This is considered an “unplugged” gig in terms of volume and rocking it out. Less is more, if you know what we mean.

The gig is 4 days a week, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. You will be expected to perform some of your own material along with other songs. The gig starts June 18 and runs to September 1, 2009. Depending on the number of people who sign up, you can expect to get one gig a week with every 4th Saturday on a rotating basis.

If you or someone wants to apply send an email. You should have a MySpace or other site where we can listen to your performances. I short musical bio is helpful. Only a few can be chosen so apply early.

If you are a music lover, come on down to Victoria Row this summer and enjoy the music. It’s free other than tipping which helps the musicians who don’t get paid much. There is no better place to be sitting in the shade on Victoria Row in Charlottetown on a summers day.
