Will seniors get wheelchairs? – Disability Support Program gets $1.2 million more, we’re not sure why?

Social Services and Seniors Minister Doug Currie, will seniors get DSP coverage?

After slogging through the budget document, I found what I was looking for – the line item on the PEI Disability Support.

Surprise – we got a $1.235 million increase over last year. Last year it was cut about $30,000.

There is no explanation in the budget document so I emailed the Minister Doug Currie and Sharon Cameron is Deputy. Sharon is good to reply on emails so let’s hope she’s true to form.

Will PEI’s seniors with disabilities finally get the promised wheelchairs and other assistive devices? I’ll keep you posted.
