Dell Adamo, why?

Dell Adamo, why?

with a story from CNET Laptop class warfare: Apple vs. Asus

There is a buzz or fizzle around the new high-end Dell laptop, the Adamo. The website is enough to make you scream with all those fancy Flash videos that go nowhere with emaciated looking women and metrosexual men who haven’t shaved for 3 days. I’m impressed – not. So it’s ultra thin, and ultra light and ultra expensive. You don’t buy it your “commit” as in have yourself committed. The low powered one is $2,499 in Canada and $3,399 for the mid-powered ($1,999 and $2,699 US). If you want to make a statement get the Mac Air although living your life to make expensive and underpowered computer decisions seems silly these days. I got a cool dual processor 1.9 Ghz laptop with a printer last Christmas for $539. I saw one in Future Shop a couple of weeks ago that could kick butt with mine for $359. I need a laptop on the kitchen table to read stories with breakfast. I think I’ll get that $359 job when it comes up again. The real appliance value of a laptop or netbook is somewhere around $199. When they get there, you’ll have one at all your major sitting spots in a home.
