The real Stompin’ Tom Connors Hockey Night in Canada theme

There is something to be said for too much education. It makes a fool of people.

Like the Hockey Night in Canada theme. First the CBC lost the theme song we remember after more than 4 decades of broadcasts. That was marketing 101 big mistake.

Second they didn’t beg Stompin Tom to use his song, “Hockey Song” which would be the second widely recognized song in hockey, like “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.

Lest you think me a cretin, my favorite composers are Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Bob Dylan and Stompin Tom.

Too much education makes you stupid. Pride keeps you there. Go Stompin Tom.
