One of the joys of poverty is the sudden reduction in middle class lifestyle brought on by disability.
We were once princes of the planet, jobs, homes in the burbs, shopping for big-screen TVs and in a single stroke reduced to living in some old drafty digs, worrying about food and the food bank.
Thankfully we have politicians running around the country telling us we’re welfare bums.
Or better yet, they have a new lottery scheme for getting 30% of the poor off social assistance. Who’s going to be the lucky one on your block.
