Breaking News: Province approves scooters

There are unconfirmed rumours that the government has relented approving scooters this week. Formerly banned, scooters are being funded by the Disability Support Program.

We wrote the Deputy Minister for confirmation but her reply has not been received. However a local vendor confirmed a scooter was approved ‘within the last 48 hours.’

If true, that means the campaign to fix the DSP is working. They have agreed to fix the screening tool and appeals. Now with scooters funded, people who are semi-ambulatory will receive the assistive device they need.

There are major improvements still needed like the $1 million cutback. We can’t give up. Keep sending emails to Premier Binss and letters to the papers. If they are truly sensitive to this issue, now is our best time to get the money back and fix this program.

After the election, we will likely be abused again unless we show them we are strong.

Will Premier Binns give back the money they took from people in wheelchairs? Please send him an email and ask.
