Poor Taylor Swift showed everyone she can’t sing

Taylor Swift at the Grammys

Can we please have singers with voices getting awards

Taylor Swift at the GrammysLive performances are hard. There’s no room to wiggle when the singer hits a flat or sharp note. Where do hide when the whole performance is bad like Taylor Swift on the Grammys? There is no place to hide, especially when they get you to attempt harmony with Stevie Nicks. The band couldn’t play loud enough.

Swift’s history of bad live performances is legendary. Anyone who saw Taylor Swift host SNL knows she can’t sing. When she is recording, I assume she’s using Auto-tune to correct her pitch.

Many major vocalists use pitch correction. ( See Is it Live or Auto-Tuned) The fans expect perfect performances when they shell out $100 plus for tickets.

Bob Lefsetz embarrassed the young and sincere Taylor Swift after her SNL debacle. In a telephone call from London, she insisted to Lefsetz that she is “all natural all the time.” Bad mistake because she can’t sing very well.

The Facebook pages were buzzing yesterday. Her fans were defending her and the rest wondered how she has gotten so far so fast. Looks like a Milli Vanilli style meltdown for Swift.

Beyonce has a voice, a great voice. So do many other singers but not Taylor Swift. She should have used Auto-tune.

If you would like to remember a female country singer who can sing, watch Faith Hill in a live performance of It Matters to Me. Faith Hill has great vocal control.
