Garth Mulroy wins $112,500 with 69-66-71-69 for a total 275 -13

Garth Mulroy edged out Chris Tidland by one point in the South Georgia Classic at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga. The event ended on April 26th, 2009. With five PGA events under his belt, Mulroy is 2nd in the money at $151,241 on the nationwide tour.

My cousin, PGA golfer Steve Pate, missed the cut at 78th 76-69–145 at +1. My cousin hasn’t been in the PGA money this year. He has a lifetime PGA earnings of $8 million dollars on the PGA Tour which is nothing to sneeze at. His last big PGA year was 2004 when he won $199,569. Last year he won $38,692 nationwide.

Money isn’t everything. Pate has a lifetime of golfing achievement. Pate loves to fish when he is not golfing.
