By Stephen Pate – You can get your Apple Watch Series 4 by shopping around at Apple Stores despite being hard to find.
CNBC reported that the Apple supply chain is constrained on the Apple Watch 4. “First-weekend demand for the new Apple Watch was much higher than expected, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo…and Kuo doesn’t expect shipments to really pick up until November. You can still find Apple Watch Series 4 available at several Apple Stores across North America. It takes a bit of work but if you really want to score the latest Watch now it’s worth it.
Try starting with large stores near you or where you have a friend who can make the pickup. Apple won’t ship from a retail store, to my knowledge, but they will hold your purchase for 7 days. You can extend that by calling.

Look for the model and color you want, then pick your size. The page will almost always say ships in 3-4 weeks.
Click on Pickup: Check Availability under Add to Bag.
You will see what stores in your vicinity have that model.
To get a Watch now, it helps to be flexible on the color and style you pick.
You can then purchase the Watch for pickup by a designated friend or yourself if the drive is worth it.
How I got my Apple Watch 4 after 5 days
Saturday I wrote User Agony As Apple Watch Series 4 Delayed Until Late October when Best Buy backordered my first day order until October 29th.
Later in the day, I started checking everywhere I could to find a Watch 4 and scored one at the Apple Store in the Eaton’s Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
The colors and band styles were limited and I did have to take a cellular one. That wasn’t big issue since I have a Series 3 Cellular.
Since I live more than 1,000 miles from Toronto, my son volunteered to pick it up on Monday and FedEx the watch to me. The Watch arrived 2 days ago and I’m enjoying trying out the new features .
I like the larger face. Now I can read BBC News on the Watch. The heart rate monitor seems more accurate in my workouts. I will test everything but at least I didn’t have to wait until October.
As a bonus my son took the Watch 3 off my hands.
