Worth waiting for – Dylan Grammy Musicares concert will get DVD release
By Stephen Pate – Billboard reports that Bob Dylan “has approved a DVD release of the Feb. 6 MusiCares Person of the Year concert footage that included performances by Bruce Springsteen, Alanis Morissette and Jack White.”
Getting clearance rights for different performers can lock up these concerts for years.
Rumor has it Dylan secured rights ahead of the concert by personally selecting the songs and artists.
Will we have to listen to his rambling sometimes vituperative speech? Time will tell.
Here’s the line-up of artists and songs from the program. It looks like another version of Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration with all the great stars and songs.
Willie Nelson – “Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power)”
Beck – “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat”
John Mellencamp – “Highway 61 Revisited”
Aaron Neville – “Shooting Star”
Alanis Morissette – “Subterranean Homesick Blues”
Los Lobo – “On A Night Like This”
Bruce Springsteen – “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”
Neil Young – “Blowin’ In The Wind”
Jackson Browne – “Blind Willie McTell”
Jack White – “One More Cup Of Coffee”
Tom Jones – “What Good Am I?”
Norah Jones – “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight”
Dereck Trucks And Susan Tedeschi – “Million Miles”
John Doe – “Pressing On”
Crosby, Stills & Nash – “Girl From The North County”
Bonnie Raitt – “Standing In The Doorway”
Sheryl Crow – “Boots Of Spanish Leather”
When will it be released? No one is saying but my prediction is soon.
