Perfect “I Love Rock And Roll” rocker made her fame on a $600 Gibson Melody Maker
By Stephen Pate – Joan Jett just got word she will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next spring.
“It’s surreal and very humbling. It’s a culmination of all you’ve dreamed about doing as a musician,” she told Rolling Stone. I’ve always been hopeful because I think it’s an incredible acknowledgment. I’m very proud to be with all these great musicians. It’s going to take a few minutes to sink in before I see how I really feel about it.”
I can only say that as “they finally got the news” about a real rock and roll woman of class and talent. Of course they are just getting around the Lou Reed and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I love that she plays a cheap Gibson Melody Maker like any aspiring rocker just starting out. Why change the formula that made her famous?
Here’s Joan Jett with the rest of Nirvana including Dave Grohl back on drums singing “Smells Like Teen Spirit” at last years induction awards.
That’s one rocking song.
Also being inducted are Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, The “5” Royales, Bill Withers and Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and Lou Reed on April 18. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Lou Reed will be honored posts
