Musing on choices
To kiss a kid, call my son
Pick a jazz chord, learn a new song
Answer a letter, call my mom
Write a story about where I’m from
Practice the piano, do my exercises
Do my taxes, taxes, taxes and taxes
Learn that plugin, make those cables
Re-string the Willie, tell a fable
Pay the bills and do the books
Pick a recipe I can cook
Get a headache and take a pill
Watch a movie and just chill
Hold little Matty in my lap
Go to the parlor take a nap
Pull weeds and cut the lawn
Squint at the sun suppress a yawn
Call a friend or sing a song
Look for work or get a grant
Feed the crows or think about spring
Or the party summer will bring
Tell her I love her write a new song
Forget about what went wrong
If I had time I do it all
Betcha I will before the fall.
