Simple application builder will likely push Google Android phone beyond Apple’s App Store
The Google App Inventor allows almost anyone with an idea and a computer to build their own smart phone app without coding skills. It won’t replace apps that have complex logic but it will open up the Android system to users at all levels. Smart move but that’s Google – they like a world of open systems with user interactivity. The world like Google in return.
Some pundit suggest it will end interest in professionally developed Android Apps. We suggest that’s hogwash. Blogs didn’t end professionally designed websites. Google knows what it is doing. A closed shop like Apple is building only works in a closed society, like Russia and China used to be.

This may be useful for new developers but I cannot see this being helpful to end users.
A good alternative I have seen is this (http://www.joisoft.com/diyapps.php). This start-up offers a subscription service for small businesses to build apps and connect with their customers. The subscription starts at US$9.90. Definitely the cheapest option for small businesses to try out building their own apps before committing to a big investment.
