Never demo but if you must demo, never demo
Steve Jobs carefully orchestrated sell of the new iPhone 4 hit a snag when FaceTime, the new video calling app, failed. He couldn’t get the Wi-Fi connection.
Now he knows what it’s like to be on AT&T in the US or Rogers in Canada trying to make iPhone calls on 3G networks. I had to get in my car and drive 5 blocks to make a call. Somehow, receiving calls just didn’t work out with that scenario.
And as we said in the computer biz, never demo.
