This summer’s iPhone is new sleek design, front and back facing cameras, higher resolution screen and larger battery
Gizmodo “obtained” a copy of the new iPhone that someone left in a bar. Hold that phone. They paid $10,000 to get their hands on it. Later the amount was reported as $5,000.
The new iPhone was left somewhere and Gizmodo, the folks who like gizmos, got their hands on it.
We can thank competition from Android and HTC for keeping the heat on Apple who are adding features the competition have like front and back facing cameras, flash, two microphones, a bigger and longer battery.
Even the form factor has changed to a more industrial design a la Droid. Gone is the rounded back for new square corners.
Check out Gizmodo for the details including two videos of the phone.
Apple wants their phone back.
The individual who found the iPhone sent pictures of the device to Engadget, but it was Gizmodo who scored big by actually obtaining the iPhone itself. It’s been reported by in-the-know Apple blogger John Gruber that Apple considered said iPhone “stolen”, and was keen on getting it back.
But with Gizmodo’s report blowing up the Internet today, the cat is out of the bag. At the time of this writing, Gizmodo’s story alone is bordering on 2.5 million page views.
Now word is leaking out that Gizmodo paid a cool 10 grand for the iPhone prototype, which all things considered, seems like a bargain given Apple’s typically tight rein on product leaks. Edible Apple
