Der Standard.at – Das Internationale Olympische Komitee (IOC) hat eine sogenannte “Take Down Notice” – also eine Aufforderung zur Entfernung von Inhalten auf Webseiten – an den kanadischen Betreiber des Blogs NJN Network gestellt.

Es geht dabei um ein Video des tödlich verunglückten georgischen Rodlers Nodar Kumaritashvili. Das IOC beruft sich dabei auf seine Urheberrechte, der betroffene Blogger Stephen Pate ortet hingegen den Versuch kritische Berichte, die eine Aufklärung der Todesursache und Verantwortlichkeiten fordern, abzustellen.

Aufklärung und Verantwortung<

Nach einem Bericht der International Business Times ist das IOC der Meinung, dass das Video aufgrund der Urheberrechte nicht auf der Plattform zu finden sein darf. Zudem würden dadurch auch die Gefühle der Angehörigen verletzt. Pate sieht jedoch das kanadische Recht auf seiner Seite und will mit dem Beitrag auch zu einer lückenlose Aufklärung der Umstände beitragen. Prominente Unterstützung erhält der Blogger von David Letterman – die The Vancouver Sun zitiert den US-Moderator mit den Worten: “Dass nun gesagt wird, dass es sein Fehler war, stinkt zum Himmel. Denn wenn er einen Fehler gemacht hätte, wäre es wohl dabei belassen worden, dann hätten sie nicht die Bahn repariert, die Stahlträger besser abgedeckt und den Start nach unten verlegt. Das ist scheinheilig.” Letterman erregte auch ohne ein Video zu präsentieren mit seinen Aussagen großes Aufsehen.(red)
