With no targets, no guarantees and no positive climate change what does the deal accomplish?

There are no climate change targets according to MSNBC. There are no legally binding agreements. There is no guarantee anything that was agreed to will change the climate one iota.

China threw a monkey wrench into the deal by refusing international monitoring. Obama’s complaint about that insulted the Chinese. They went off to negotiate with Brazil, India and South Africa on their own.

Hearing they were meeting without him, Obama went to the meeting uninvited. President Obama is not lacking in courage in the face of adversity.

The legacy of George Bush is hurting the US in more ways than one. Bush’s war in Iraq left the US indebted to China for more than a trillion dollars. The foot dragging by Bush also took away the moral authority of the US to negotiate.

“The most important thing… is build some trust between the developing and developed countries,” said Obama.
