President Obama announced a framework deal for climate change with four other nations.
China, India, Brazil and South Africa were holding all the cards on a agreement and Obama used his persuasion to close the deal.

The four major developing countries – China, India, Brazil and South Africa – agreed with the United States to sign a framework agreement.
They were actually meeting in secret without the US. Obama made his way to their meeting room and after secret negotiations a deal was struck.
The target is to keep climate warming to 2 C.
