Neato Robotics vacuum gives Roomba something to talk about
Who doesn’t need a vacuum that does the floors while they are are work or perhaps an adaptation to help the disabled? The Neato Robotics Vacuum may be just the thing. The name is straight from the hip 50’s but the gadget is strictly space age.
Video and the rest of the story follow the break.
The Roomba has this market all to itself up until now. People generally love the Roomba® Vacuum Cleaning Robot. The main complaints are random movement, customer service and low suction.
The Roomba robotic vacuum criss-crosses the floor in a random pattern that takes forever to complete the task. The Neato Robotics Vacuum appears to learn the room and then moves methodically to vacuum it completely. It can differentiate walls, furniture and stairs. When the job is done it parks itself for recharging.
The Neato Robotics can pick up Cheeries, dust and cat hair. That about sums up what lands on hour floors, along with chocolate milk powder.
The Neato Robotics vacuum is on pre-order for $399. It is expected to ship in January 2010 and be available directly from Neato Robotics, Hammacher Schlemmer, and Amazon.com. The company has announced shipping to the United States and Canada. It has a 30-day money back guarantee and one-year warranty.
