Doug Currie has released to the Legislature and public the report of the health review commission which he said will streamline the delivery of health care on PEI.
This is the controversial study and legislation that has caused discussion and speculation lately.
Is thisĀ a way to privatize health care on PEI?
Is the Province closing emergency and other hospital services except Charlottetown and Summerside?
The report will be available on line today according to the minister.

“The Department of Health is largely focused on health-care operations, leaving few resources to fulfil the department’s role in policy making, planning and oversight,” the advisory council’s report said.”
“The corporation’s board will consist of 11 to 15 members, representing the diversity of people across the Island, as well as a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge”
“Because of the diversity of requirements, the board will be appointed, not elected.”
“Public boards have moved to appointed members as a means of ensuring that the desired skill sets and experience are present to provide the necessary governance and oversight of the board’s work,” the report says.” CBC
