We are advertising a book by an Island writer who covered one the first PEI Disability Alert stories on CBC without even trying

Yesterday we singed up for Amazon.com advertising. If you click through from our site and purchase something they send us pennies that will pay for all keyboards I run through publishing NJN Network.
Amazon.com are pretty amazing in their Internet marketing. They run a bot on our site, see what’s popular and fill the add based on content. So we got lots of Bob Dylan cd’s up in the corner. Who would have guessed, eh?
I was coming back from lunch and checked – zowie “PEI Book of Musts by Erin Moore” was being promoted. That is too weird.
Erin Moore was a CBC Compass reporter who left to write books. She’s an interesting person with a social conscience. She left Canada once to help children in Africa. Not everyone does that during their career.
I met here when she was doing a story on our Privacy Commissioner complaint against the government for asking about the sex lives of the disabled.
Since then she left CBC to write – her book – and start a family with…get this…a fellow Bob Dylan fan and singer Ted Simmons who I met at Baba’s.
OK so it’s not a big coincidence in a small town but I like that Amazon picked Erin’s book. I would have done it but the bot did it for me. By the way, it’s a great book to give visitors since Erin wrote it with a visitor’s eye.
