Back in March 09, I predicted the $199 laptop as utility computer in every room. Laptops, luxury or price
This is a full functioning laptop with 3GB of RAM memory and 160GB Hard Drive. I have yet to see a 3GB machine under $300 this season. Qtys are limited and will begin selling at 8:00 AM on Sunday, July 26th. CheckOut
This is only the first of an avalanche of price busting computers that kill the $1,000 notebook. Computerworld reports “Wal-Mart also plans to add a “very cool Acer laptop” with an eight-hour battery life over the next few days, according to the company. It also plans to add a HP netbook.”
With Wal-Mart’s announcement of a $299 Compaq notebook we are almost there. Available in limited quantities it is expected to begin the back to school sale season.
Interest in netbooks, those sub-10 inch screens, is waning. Netbooks are disappointing, not as useful as a notebook. People don’t want a squinty little screen.
