Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan says Boyle had been feeling ‘physically and mentally drained (BBC News)
Scottish over-night singing sensation Susan Boyle checked in to a clinic today in London. She was apparently exhausted from the run up the the final contest in Britain’s Got Talent.
She is reported to be emotionally drained after the week of media pressure and then her loss to dark horse Diversity.
The publicity that Britain’s Got Talent provided Boyle, who was other wise and unknown to the world, proved to be too much for her along with her disappointment at losing first place.
The media hype surrounding this program is both inane and the power of the masses in one stressful experience.
Boyle’s amazing fans included UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown who telephoned Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan. “‘I hope Susan Boyle is okay because she is a really, really nice person,’ he told GMTV.” (BBC News)
Peirs Morgan said in the video “She wasn’t used to it, and just needs a break.”
“She said she was exhausted, she said she was physically and mentally drained, she’d been sick a few times in the previous week, hadn’t been sleeping, hadn’t been eating – and had found the whole weight of the world’s media pressure crashing down on her shoulders,” he added.
Obviously, the world wishes her well and hopes her recording and preforming career will prove easier for Boyle to take. Boyle has a universal appeal due in part to her underdog background and her obvious musical talent.
Susan’s brother reports she will rebound quickly.
