Chuck Hickey passed away at 69 in Moncton yesterday. He had been a long time CBC broadcaster and everyone’s favourite host of Compass, followed by Roger Younker. Chuck went through life with boundless energy, determination and a great sense of humour. He was an enthusiastic member of the community and his church, Holy Redeemer in Charlottetown. When he worked for the Province in Sales Tax, it was a treat to find a reason to call him. Chuck was always there with a down-to-earth and funny answer for questions. He will be missed. The Guardian has a good story Chuck Hickey, former Compass sportscaster and longtime public servant, dies at age 69. It would be nice if CBC Compass did a longer story too since he worked there and they have the video. “The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer. Visitation at Belvedere Funeral Home.” The Guardian.
