Stephen Pate (Pottie) gives out information about disabilities on PEI in front of the Montague Post Office on Monday.

Mr. Pate said there are 19,000 Islanders with disabilities, but only 1,000 of them receive support from the Disability Support Program.

He wants all Islanders with disabilities to be included in the program, and is campaigning around the province to raise awareness about the issue during the weeks leading up to the provincial election.

With Mr. Pate is Susan Winters, of Lower Montague, and her youngest daughter Hannah who were stopping by to get their mail.

Ms. Winters has two older children, ages 13 and 14 with cerebral palsy. She said the physiotherapy childred with cerebral palsy need is not available on PEI. (Janet MacLeod photo)

Ed: The treatment Ms. Winters referred to is the Janeway Clinic in Newfoundland which treatment is not funded by the Province of PEI.
