Ed: Chester Gillan is really slow in replying, sometimes never. I thought I would short circuit the process and ask the Federation if they can provide the things Chester said in the paper.

Subject: Disability Support for seniors
In Saturday’s Guardian, Social Services and Seniors Minister Chester Gillan is quoted saying, “services for the disabled don’t stop with the DSP. He said government supports some 29 non-governmental groups that work with disabled persons.”Type your summary here.
Can seniors on PEI who have a disability now go to the Senior’s Federation, SUN or some other group and get the technical aids, assistive devices and other supports available under the Disability Support Program, such as
· a new power wheelchair
· a new manual wheelchair
· a scooter
· a walker
· glasses
· hearing aids
· grab bars in their bathroom
· respite care
· Community access supports?
There is some confusion about what seniors are entitled to so your help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Stephen Pate
