FBI Spyware Has Been Snaring Extortionists, Hackers for Years

We see stories on TV of the policy tracking criminals through chat rooms. Recently released documents from the FBI shows they have been using sophisticated Trojans and worms to track criminals and terrorists. By tricking suspects to a web-site, the FBI spyware has infiltrated their computers to track everything they do. You know what they say “You’d better be good for goodness sake.”

A sophisticated FBI-produced spyware program has played a crucial behind-the-scenes role in federal investigations into extortion plots, terrorist threats and hacker attacks in cases stretching back at least seven years, newly declassified documents show.
