Mail Calendar People and Messaging all slated for much-needed update

Some sites like Neowin are reporting that Microsoft is ready to update core Windows 8 apps like Music and People in March 2013.

That should be good news except most of these apps are so crude they will need major upgrades to reach any level of functionality that make them useful.

Will this update be worth the wait?

Microsoft should be telling customers openly about their plans and not letting the much-needed improvements get announced as leaks on blogs. Continue reading

Microsoft begins a 3 week roll-out of upgrades to their Windows 8 RTM today with a Bing update.

Every Microsoft app from the Windows Store will get minor updates to tweak performance and app features before the general release of Windows 8 on October 26, 2012 says the Building Windows 8 blog.

This is the last push before the big day for Microsoft. A list of the built-in apps and changes follows. Computer manufacturers get the update as well, although they may not install them if they have gone to manufacturing. Live collection from 1978 to 2007 will be on CD, vinyl, DVD and Blu-Ray Dec 1 2009

Bob Lefsetz was going on about getting some Blu-Ray disk of Tom Petty’s live concerts and how he couldn’t play it in the car or cd player – well of course it’s Blu-Ray a completely different format.

He was raving about how real it sounded when he played it on his only Blu-Ray player a Playstation 3. Pretty weird that the only compatible player is a game.

Then I remembered I don’t have a Blu-Ray player at all. Rats. Here I am blabbing on about better sound and how Blu-Ray is the answer. I don’t have one.
