Bob Dylan will be 69 this spring, on May 24th to be exact. His voice is nothing like it used to be, so they say. Will he retire from the Never Ending Tour?
Age has nothing to do with it. I saw Tony Bennett in Toronto a few years ago when he was 80. I wanted to see John Lee Hooker in his 80s and I’ll pay money any day to see B.B. King who is 85. B.B. King followed blues man Colin James in a Toronto concert 12 years ago and he blew Colin out of the park.
IOC、リュージュ事故の動画を削除するようメディアサイトに要請

バンクーバーオリンピックのリュージュ競技練習中 に起きた死亡事故の動画を掲載したサイトが、IOCから動画を削除するよう要請されているそうだ。（International Business Times、本 家記事）。
バンクーバーオリンピック開幕日に行われたリュージュ競技の公開練習中、21歳のグルジア代表ノダル・クマリタシビリ選 手がスピードを制御できずにコース外に投げ出され、鉄柱に強く身を打ちつけ死亡するという悲劇が起こった。カナダのメディアサイトNJNがこの件ついての記事を事故の動画とともに掲載したところ、IOC から動画削除を要請するメールが送られてきたという。
オリンピックに関する映像等の権利は全てIOCに属し、放映ライセンスを取得者にしか 使用は許可されていない。しかし、NJN発行者である Stephen Pate曰く、カナダには著作権が他にあったとしても報道に値する場合においては使用を許可する法律があるとのことで、この件の報道を続ける姿勢だそう だ。
ちなみに冬季オリンピック86年の歴史で死亡事故が起きたのは今回の件を含めわずか5回だそうだ。
