Rogers (AML) has the best initial pricing for the Samsung ATIV S – free phone, no activation fee, 1 month free, up to 12 months of free video streaming. Bell wants $89 for the phone. TELUS wants $79.

Rogers, TELUS and Bell have the ATIV S handsets at their dealers in limited quantities – 2 to 3 sets per dealer. I have one and will review it shortly.  Continue reading

Bell Mobility announced pricing but not availability of the 4.8″ Samsung ATIV S.

This completes releases from Nokia, HTC and Samsung of Windows Phone 8 handsets.

Bell pricing is $99.99 on a 3-year contract, versus $0 for the HTC 8X. Rogers Wireless are offering the phone for $79.99.

The ATIV S name for this Samsung phone is weird. What does the acronym stand for? At least HTC were cute enough to put 8, as in Windows Phone 8, in their HTC 8X.

I also got an email from Costo offering a $150 store cash card for the phone, so I’m going to check that out this afternoon.  Continue reading

There is nothing in home theatre that compares with the excitement of watching a 3D movie.

Your next TV may be a 3D capable set, despite the naysayers in the media.

3D picture quality is superb and active 3D glasses are no longer a barrier to the 3D effect.  Continue reading

Canada gets Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Costco has the Bell Galaxy Nexus for at low introductory price of $85

Galaxy Nexus 4.0

I was surprised to see Costco heavily discount the Galaxy Nexus on introduction this week.

For once, Canadians get the phone before the USA. The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday the 4G LTE phone has no release date in the US yet.

This is the first Android 4 smart phone to market.

To put things in perspective the hot iPhone 4S is only a 3.7″ screen with 3G communications.

The Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65″ screen and uses 4G. Sorry Apple, your phone is so 2010 except for Siri.

When you check out the larger screen it’s so obvious why the iPhone has fallen behind the times. It’s tiny and hard to read.  Continue reading
