The $239 billion loss in market value is a vote of no confidence in Apple’s future

Apple stock dropped from a high of $705 per share in September 2012 to $450 yesterday, a loss of $239 billion in market value in just 4 months.

Where you are in the computer business is secondary to where your market is going.

With consumers showing an overwhelming preference for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, Microsoft has to be in that space with Windows 8 or lose even more customers to Apple and Google. Continue reading

iPhone 5 blows away iPhone 4s if your life depends on milliseconds

Say it ain’t so – the iPhone 5 is not that fast

TechCrunch did a side-by-side speed test video of the new iPhone 5 compared to the iPhone 4s. (see copyright notice below)

Guess what? The speed difference on the supposedly faster iPhone 5 is almost non-existent. Facebook loads less than one second faster and a game about 2 seconds faster.

Is that important in life – I doubt it.   Continue reading
