Get Kinect Without Xbox $199

Developers and consumers can pre-order Kinect V2 for July 2014 delivery

By Stephen Pate – Kinect, the human interface part of Xbox One, has applications beyond gaming.

Developers and users with imagination will be able to start putting those capabilities to work or play starting in July with the beta SDK version.

“The Kinect for Windows v2 sensor gives developers more of the precision, responsiveness, and intuitive capabilities they need to develop interactive voice and gesture-based applications. The sensor is intended for use with the Kinect for Windows software development kit (SDK) 2.0, which will be available as a public beta in July 2014.”

“The pre-order offer is limited to the number of Kinect for Windows v2 sensors on hand. After the pre-order inventory has been exhausted, additional sensors will be available for general purchase later this year.” Microsoft
