Mumford and Sons and Bruno Mars – Sales and Social Media Grammy Winners

Bruno Mars and Sting Grammy Awards 2013

Mumford and Sons saw their sales go up but Bruno Mars got more social media heat from Grammy Award Show

By Stephen Pate – Mumford and Sons CD “Babel” is the big winner of the Grammys with a sales increase of more than 50% according to Soundscan and 394% for the song “I Will Wait” on 7Digital.

In social media, NextBigSound reported that Bruno Mars saw the biggest increase with 125K Twitter new followers and 1.7 million new YouTube views from February 8-10.

Bruno Mars was the first artist Sunday night to get everyone off their seats dancing with his tribute to Bob Marley, along with Sting, Rihanna, Damien and Ziggy Marley.

Why do rock and roll artists insist of boring audiences at award shows. The same thing happens every year. Lots of turgid serious performances from people who are supposed to get you up and grooving to the music. See Foo Fighters clean up at Grammy 2012 with Walk video
