Apple once again demonstrates the law of unintended consequences

Apple’s tutorials for iOS 5 encourage you to sync your iPhone or iPad over wi-fi.

Why? Because you can now.

The downside is that every time your iPhone is near the computer it will launch iTunes on top of whatever other programs are working. 

That is truly annoying and can interrupt programs that want exclusive foreground processing.

It happened today and it screwed up an hour of work until I stopped and Google’d the problem.

Thanks Apple – the law of unintended consequences at work again.
