Lady Gaga who just staged the wildest comeback at Chicago’s Lollapalooza 2010 rock festival is heavily rumored to be the star act at next year’s Summerfest on Prince Edward Island.

Truth is stranger than fiction. This story is a satire but that could not have imagined Summerside were trying to get Beyonce and Justin Timberlake. Of course, that was another scam that has sparked a million dollar lawsuit.

Tourism Minister Vessey was inspired by the spirited performance of rock’s Lady of sexy kitsch and outrageous outfits to advance $1 million from the Tourism department’s Signature Investment Fund.

George Wendt is being paid $200,000 from the fund to play in Hairspray, The Cirque du Soleil at Summerfest got $250,000, and The Cavendish Beach Music Festival will receive $500,000. CBC

“This will raise the profile of Prince Edward Island as a premium tourist destination bigger that Regis and Kelly,” Minister Vessey told CBC in an exclusive interview to be broadcast Monday. 

We have learned through a leaked email from Minister Vessey’s wife to her sister that the event is expected to swell the ranks of the Liberal Party just prior to the election in the fall of 2011.

Tracey Vessey told her sister in the email “Each Summerfest ticket will include a bonus membership on the Liberal Party of Prince Edward Island, just before the election. Bobbie’s a great thinker but what people don’t know is that I was the one who thought up the party membership trick. He wanted to bring Lady Gaga hoping she would body surf the Liberal VIP section. Things you have to do to win an election.”
