Eleanor Rigby by Paul McCartney

Recreation of Beatles hits is McCartney strong suit

Eleanor Rigby by Paul McCartney

At the Halifax concert this summer, everyone was amazed at how well Paul McCartney could recreate the Beatles hits.

As songs like Eleanor Rigby were performed the audience of 50,000 plus was taken back to the days when the Beatles made those songs popular.

One of the critics in the Halifax Chronicle Herald lamented that the lead guitarist was stuck playing George Harrison’s licks. Exactly what the fans want. When Paul McCartney performs, people don’t want some show boating musician thinking it is time for personal creativity.

I found this video which I posted. It comes from the Halifax Concert.

If you are into all things Paul McCartney, try his website. Along with lots of information, they are offering a free video and mp3 download for your email address.

The video is Highway and the mp3 Let It Roll. It only took a minute to download and Let it Roll is playing right now.

If you’re a collector, check out the versions of the New York concert. There are single CDs, CDs with DVDs, double DVDs and even vinyl. I ordered the Deluxe DVD below because it seemed to have everything – well except Blu-Ray.

According to the website it has: digital download, 33 track live double CD, concert on DVD, bonus DVD including Paul’s seven-song performance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the audience documentary film “Good Evening People” and hardback book. That should keep us busy for awhile.
