PNP Let’s clear up this murky mess
Government does not intend to come clean
Charlottetown Guardian Editor:
In my opinion, there is a public perception of dishonesty and sleaze surrounding the P.E.I. government’s handling of the PNP, and it’s right on the mark. The atmosphere emanating from the current legislature gives strong reason to suspect that our government has not been upfront nor does it intend to come clean with important information that belongs in the public domain.
The conditions that permit MLAs, senior bureaucrats and other government employees and their relatives to access PNP funds is preposterous. Surely one need not be a genius to recognize the pitfalls inherent in such a treacherous situation.
In spite of our usual passive acceptance of incredibly bad behaviour on the part of our politicians, we Islanders must now express our anger and demand that the government present an open book on this whole murky mess. Government’s inappropriate and arrogant attitude must come to an end – enough is enough.
Mr. Ghiz, it’s your move.
