Microsoft introduced it’s new Internet search engine named Bing to limited fanfare but almost immediate success. Microsoft is looking to catch up ground on Yahoo and the real industry leader Google. Microsoft has 8% market share, Yahoo 21% and Google has 64%. Google CEO Eric Schmidt is unimpressed by Bing.

Anyone using Internet Explorer will and a Microsoft sponsored home page such as MSN or MSN/Sympatico will get Bing as their search engine in the middle of the page.

Microsoft is trying to provide a different experience with Bing to win traffic Yahoo and maybe Google. Dig a little deeper and we see that Yahoo is a strong player in the porn market.

Microsoft is clearly going after this feature with picture and video previews in Bing.

Normally if your browser find porn, you have to click through to the site. That allows parents to use parental control to keep porn off their children’s computers.

It also provides companies with firewalls against porn surfing by employees and block sites.

Apart from issues of child porn, morality and employee productivity, porn sites are a major source of viruses, trojans and other nasty programs that attempt to infect your computer.

If you search any number of porn tags with Bing, you get live links to Microsoft who are caching the videos and the pictures. Holding the mouse over a video and the video is live on your screen.

Here’s a simple search on the word “Porn” then video. Any one of the video windows will go live if you hold your mouse over it.

If Microsoft wanted a leg up in the Internet porn market, Bing is an innovative new tool. Live video snippets will allow Microsoft to push porn into homes and desktops all over the world.

The work around from Microsoft is a semi-complex script that no one will use. Safe Search is set to restrict the Bing porn video arcade. Most children will quickly learn how to defeat it and get live porn on their computers.

Information Week reports that China and Muslim countries have insisted Microsoft remove the feature.
