Lobster fishing at Graham’s Pond PEI

Lobster landings are down on the south side of PEI and have been for years. The beaches are still the best on PEI.

Back when I lived in Kings County in the 1970’s and 1980’s, the north side of PEI was suffering and the boys in Graham’s Pond were hauling in the lobster.

Times change and I hope they change back.

Graham’s Pond and Murray Harbour North are a little out of the way but a great place to visit.

Panmure Island Provincial Park js nearby with camping and swimming.

The place is full of great scenic vistas.

It is a place I’ll never forget with great friends and two of my sons born there.

There is  piece of my heart in the area for those who passed on like the greatest mother-in-law a fellow could have, Martha Graham. She didn’t have much but she had a lot of love and charity for everyone.

Down the road is Poverty Beach Camp Ground with long stretches of secluded sandy beaches.

Tourists on PEI crowd the north shore beaches but there are none finer than the south coast of Kings County, if you want to walk beaches alone” sang Allister McGillivray.

“If you walk the cold beaches alone,
As the first light of morning is born,
All adrift in the haze where the white seagull strays,
You might catch a glimpse on the foam of the sea people.”

  1. I was wondering how hard it would be to get Gail Shea to sit down with Robert Ghiz and resolve this mess of fish on PEI. The world is spinning and we are not able to sit down at the table to discuss the basics like fishing and farming on PEI.I like that you see the wonderful blue shy and reminiscence. Its tearful my good friend. To see a way of life end. Thanks for witnessing the “Pro” Test. I was able to record the winds of change from within the house using the GPS Pole I conducted in front of the house on May 5th.
