Peaks at 40.81 feet, now 40.75 feet

The rise in river level stabilized last night and fell back slightly to 40.75 feet, according to the US Geological Service. Fargo is worried and watchful and the worst is not over yet. Dikes across the river in sister city Moorehead MN have been breached and water has pushed back inland.

Outside Fargo, Becker County is on full alert. Grand Forks, down stream is bracing for a 52 foot crest. Farmers are working to rescue standed cattle throughout the country side. The Predator B drone belonging to the Customs and Border Protection station in Grand Forks has been drafted for flood duty.

And the day isn’t started yet in Fargo North Dakota where it’s barely light.
