266 Days Since DSP Budget Cut

We are going to track the relevant dates surrounding the $651,000 cutback in funding on the PEI Disability Support Plan. Thanks to Will Pate my son and a blogger since 1999 for the inspiration. The first thing that officially happened was the Minister of Finance presented his Budget on March 31st.

In order to carryout the cuts, new regulations and policies were invoked in July that meant almost certain cutback for the 1,000 Islanders with disabilities. The cutbacks were exposed on November 30, 2006. The government finally acknowledged the cutbacks last week although grudingly.

So the days and counting are –

266 Days since the DSP budget was cut

154 Days since new cutback regulations.

22 Days since cutbacks exposed

8 Days since cutbacks acknowledged

How long before the cutbacks are rescinded?
